Current research includes: Ø Borehole
inclinometry measurements of internal ice deformation. Ø High time and space resolution measurements of surface velocity. During 2002 targets were placed on the glacier surface. Each target was measured 1 time per hour, around the clock by an automatic total station theodolite. The station was located on the glacier surface with reference points on the valley walls. Additional targets located along length of glacier, surveyed every few days for one of two survey sites on the valley wall. Ø
Finite element modeling of longitudinal coupling.
Survey targets.
20 targets surveyed 4 times per hour, 24 hours/day, by a computer
controlled total-station theodolite.
